privacy policy
inkmate is a small independent project. This page explains in plain words what we collect, why, who helps us run the site, and your choices.
what we collect
- When you join or make a room: the name you type, the room code, an anonymous session ID, the moves, notes and emoji reactions in your games, and your colour and character choices.
- If you sign in: your email address, used only to send you sign-in links and to find your subscription.
- If you subscribe: a customer and subscription ID, the plan, its status and the period end date. We never see or store your card or bank details.
- Basic, cookie-free page-view statistics from Vercel Analytics (pages viewed, country, device type). We do not use advertising trackers.
- Server logs kept by our hosts for security and debugging, which can include IP addresses for a short time.
on your device
The site stores small settings in your browser's local storage, such as your seat in a room, your chosen pieces and your animation preference. It does not use advertising cookies. Clearing site data resets them.
why we use it
To run the games and rooms you ask for, to sign you in, to give you the Plus features you paid for, to keep the service safe, and to understand in broad terms which pages get used.
who helps us run inkmate
- Supabase stores the game data and sign-in accounts.
- Vercel hosts the site and provides the analytics.
- Resend delivers the sign-in emails.
- Polar is the merchant of record for Plus and handles payments, tax and receipts under its own privacy policy, with Stripe as its payment processor.
These services may process data in other countries, including the United States. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
how long we keep it
Rooms and games stay until the room is deleted. Account and subscription records stay while your account exists, and billing records may be kept longer where the law requires. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your sign-in and subscription records, apart from what we must keep.
your choices
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing support@inkmate.fun from the address on your account. You can also leave a room at any time from the site. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the rights in data protection law, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
children
inkmate is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their email addresses. If you think a child has given us one, tell us and we will delete it.
changes
We will update this page if what we do changes, and the date at the top will move. See also our terms of use.
