terms of use

These terms cover your use of inkmate (inkmate.fun) and the optional inkmate Plus subscription. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

the games

The games are free to play, with no account needed. You can make a private room and share its code with people you know. Please keep your name and your notes kind: no harassment, hate, spam or anything illegal.

who can use inkmate

inkmate is made for a general audience but is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, ask a parent or guardian to play with you, and please do not sign in with an email address or buy anything. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to any purchase.

accounts

An account is optional and only needed for inkmate Plus. You sign in with a link sent to your email address. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your inbox secure. Tell us at the address below if you think someone else has used it.

inkmate Plus

• inkmate Plus is an optional paid subscription that unlocks extras (such as more characters and inks) on top of the free games. The games themselves stay free.
• Our payment partner, Polar, is the merchant of record. It takes your payment, charges any sales tax or VAT that applies, and issues your receipt. Your card details go to Polar and its payment processor, never to us.
• A subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. The price and billing period are shown before you pay.
• You can cancel at any time from the customer portal link in your receipt email. After you cancel, Plus stays on until the end of the period you already paid for.
• Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
• We may change what Plus includes or its price. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before it affects your next renewal.

acceptable use

• Do not cheat in ways that spoil other people's games, or try to break, probe or overload the service.
• Do not use bots or scripts against online rooms, or try to read other people's rooms.
• Do not copy the site's artwork or code to pass off as your own.

We may remove a room or close an account that breaks these rules. If we close a paid account for breaking them, we do not refund the current period.

your content

You keep ownership of the names and notes you write. You let us store and show them to the people in your room so the game works. We do not use them for anything else.

no guarantees

inkmate is a small independent project. We work hard to keep it running, but it is provided as is. Games, rooms and Plus features can change or go away, and we cannot promise it will always be available or free of bugs. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or lost-profit losses, and our total liability for anything connected to the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.

changes and contact
